Education
has become one of social important aspect in human live since the development of the culture,
technology, and all aspects in human live
forced the people to be educated. By the time goes on the education in
Indonesia has shown a significant development.
The
establishment of the private school has helped the government to create a
better education circumstance In Indonesia. It also govern in national
rule of education “ pendidikan berbasis masyarakat adalah penyelangraan
pendidikan berdasrkan kekhasan agama, social,budaya, aspirasi, dan potensi masyarakat
sebagai perwujudan pendidikan dari, oleh, dan untuk masyarakat itu,
UNDANG-UNDANG REPUBLIK INDONESIA NOMOR 20 TAHUN 2003 TENTANG SISTEM PENDIDIKAN
NASIONAL.
People get more
option to select a school for their
children. The private school also offers a religious skill which is
combined with the school curriculum that
emphasis the student on moral education. Students who study at private school will get more acknowledgement
than students who study in general school. In Indonesia it self, a method which
combine a religious education and
national curriculum has been used by the MUHAMADYAH an Islamic foundation which
care about the education in Indonesia since the colonial era. MUHAMADYAH aims
to created a well educated person, it also establish a kindergarten, elementary
school until university.
Theislamization of higher learning focused on four objectives: the student
population, the faculty, the curriculum, and the general Islamic atmosphere to
be created in campuses or in school. The religious notion that created in the
school or campuses will make the student aware about how important education it
self, the student will combine that there is a strong relationship between the general acknowledge that they get
from the class and the religious notion that they get from the school
environment. The combination of the general education and religious skill will
created a people who aware about the condition of this country, and ready to be the leader of this country latter.
a religious skill that practiced In private school is almost as same as the
religious education that use in boarding school where the religious skill added
into the school curriculum.
Even though a religious education was claimed to be the
perfect method more complete than other method but a dichotomy of it is still
debated. Government especially ( a department of nationaleducation ) seems to look like confused to fix an amendment for the religious
education . the problem is not whether a religious education is difficult enough to apply and practice it in
the school environment, but the main problem that still need to be consider is
the examination, as the religious skill added into the school curriculum, the
government especially ( the department of national education ) confused to fix
what kind of examination that should be applied in a school, because the
religious education has its own curriculum, its means a school which apply a religious school as its curriculum cannot
be equaled with the school which still adopted a general curriculum from (
diknas ) it is totally different, so the exam item also cannot be equaled.
Imagine, how come two difference curriculum notion, and then two difference
students from different school which adopted a religious education and not, get
the examination together with the exam item which dominant to general
education, sure there must be a misunderstanding In the student which comes
from the school which adopted a religious education.
The separation like that which the government should be
avoided because it is impossible to equal two types of different curriculum
notion. In other word government must have a standard qualified for each
curriculum, whether a religious skill curriculum or state curriculum in order
to avoid the separation between the school which use a religious education as
their school curriculum and the school who still prefer to use state
curriculum, but there are still a lot of obstacles that retard in making the policy.
A dichotomy of the
advantage and the cost of religious
education is still debated. Muhamad noh a ministry of national education
says that 55 percent of Indonesia students can`t read Koran ( an Islamic holy
book ) he says that “ it is embarrassing because all of them are Muslim so the
should be able to read Koran”.. it is good, in facing the globalization the
students should must be provide with the emotional education as it is thought
in religious curriculum if they don`t have an emotional intelligent they will
get easier to be trapped in the globalization black hole.
